Over three days, Vanrooy Machinery proudly welcomed five outstanding WorldSkills baking competitors from around the globe, as part of the highly anticipated 2024 Global Skills Challenge!
Our Test Kitchen was transformed into a bustling competition space from Thursday the 23rd to Saturday the 25th of May 2024. Equipped with premium baking equipment, including Salva NXE Modular Deck Ovens, Salva Iverpan FC Retarder Provers, Gemm Delice Refrigeration Range and Gemm Blast Freezers. The competitors had access to the finest tools of the trade, ensuring they had everything they needed to showcase their skills.
Over the course of three days, competitors from Australia, Brazil, Chinese-Taipei, Hong Kong, and Japan baked various products including artisan-style and decorative breads, as well as wholemeal and grain doughs.
With the 47th WorldSkills competition set to take place this September in Lyon, France, anticipation is building for what is expected to be the largest skills competition in history. With over 1,500 competitors from 75 countries across 59 skill categories, the competition is expecting to host 250,000 spectators.Â
